Barbara Jean Dedic

Barbara Jean Dedic was born on August 20, 1931, in Cooks Mill, Illinois, the daughter of August and Blanche (England) Hagedorn.  Barbara attended school in Illinois until her family moved to Traer where she graduated from Traer High School in 1948.  On January 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Stanley Dedic at the Traer United Methodist Church.  The couple made their home in Traer their entire married life.  Barbara was a member of the Traer United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with her family.  Barbara died at the age of 91 on May 27, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sons, Tim and David Dedic; 5 siblings, Rex Hagedorn, Betty Gibson, Mary Boldt, Euterpa Thomas, Marjorie Chappell, and Helen Head; and a granddaughter, Michelle Dedic.  Barbara is survived by 3 children, Mark Dedic of Traer, Dr. John (Lori) Dedic of Mesquite, Nevada, and James (Anna) Dedic of Auburn, Nebraska; two daughters in law, Margaret Dedic of Cedar Falls and Jacki Swanson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.  A private family burial will be held at Buckingham Cemetery.
