Chrysta Lee Wolf

Chrysta L. (Schermerhorn) Wolf, 85 years old, passed away June 21, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, IA. She was born October 30, 1938, to Alfred and Jeanette (Taylor) Schermerhorn in Manchester, IA. 

Chrysta graduated from East Buchanan High School in 1956 and then attended the Pitze’s Beauty School. She met her future husband, Richard (Dick) Wolf at the roller-skating rink through mutual friends. They married in 1958 and relocated to Germany, where Dick was in the Army. They toured some of Europe when they could and returned to the States in 1960. 

Chrysta was a homemaker and worked in the jewelry department at JC Pennys and spent many years helping her husband with his jewelry business out of their home. In her spare time, she loved gardening, (especially growing strawberries), crafts, and loved her computer time browsing through Facebook. 

Chrysta is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her three children; Lisa (Paul) White of Cedar Falls, Todd (Angela) Wolf of Cedar Falls, and Chad Wolf of Waterloo; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Paul of Cedar Rapids and Echo Kress of Quasqueton. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cedar Valley Hospice, Waterloo, IA. 

A visitation will be held, Monday, June 24, 2024, from 9:30-10:30am at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home, 965 Home Park Blvd, Waterloo, IA.
