Cindy Sue Schweitzer

Cindy Sue Schweitzer (Voss), age 69, of Elberon, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 3, 2026. She was born on March 29, 1957, in Iowa City, Iowa to Beverly and Leonard Voss of Williamsburg, Iowa.

Cindy dedicated over 10 years of service to the United States Postal Service in Elberon. In her free time, she found joy in gardening, canning, and most of all spending time with her two grandchildren. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her loving nature, and the deep devotion she had for her family--especially her grandkids.

She is survived by her devoted life partner, Harold Handley Jr.; her six siblings: Bob (Debbie) Voss, Deb Voss (Harold Hill), Nancy Alexander, Pam (Brett) Wetjen, Jeffrey (Sharon) Voss, and Jerry Voss; her children Jason Schweitzer and Lisa (Mark) McKinstry; and her cherished grandchildren, Evelynn and Rogan, along with their beloved family friend, Karlee Kearns. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Voss.

In accordance with Cindy's wishes, no formal funeral will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27th, 2026 from 12:00pm until 3:00pm at the small shelter area at Waterloo's Lost Island KOA Resort.
