Danny Lee Davis was born January 15, 1951 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, the son of John Thompson Davis and Evangeline “Polly” (Reining) Davis. Danny served in the Navy during the Vietnam war from March 1971 to March 1975, as a Structural Maintenance Tech, Fire Fighting Leader and Instructor. He attended Naval school for nuclear, biological and chemical warfare, shipboard damage control, 3-M Maintenance school and repair school. He was awarded the following medals: Vietnam Service Medal, Viet Campaine with bronze star, Vietnam Meritorious unit citation, and Combat action ribbon. He was honorably discharged March 25, 1975. Danny had a passion for motorcycles. He loved the open road, riding with his many friends and family. He attended many rides to raise money for the AMVETS. In his final days, he was given unlimited time and loving care by his longtime companion, Brenda Brinyark.

Danny passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at home following a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother John (Pat). Danny is survived by one son, Danny “Buck” (Misti) Davis Jr of Waterloo; two daughters, Amy (Dave) Goodwin of Cedar Falls, and Valerie Kent of Waterloo; one step son, Tony Brinyark of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; three brothers, Pete Davis of West Virginia, Andrew (Judy) Davis of Waterloo, William Davis of Arizona; and two sisters, Jeanie Steen of Waterloo and Linda Roberts of Waterloo.

He will be greatly missed.
