Dennis Arthur Bass, 82, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026.

Dennis was born on January 4, 1944, to Lester and Maxine Bass of Boone, IA. They moved to Waterloo where he worked at Rath Packing Plant, John Deere, Payless Cashway Lumber and Tyson.

He passed by Sharon as she was walking home from school and kept her by his side for the next 63 years. They were united in marriage on February 15, 1966.

Dennis and Sharon enjoyed camping and spending time at their cabin on Lake Dehli. They were a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers supporting all of their merchandise and watching their games. He loved to work on home improvement projects, tinkering in his garage and doing yard work. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and yard jarts.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon, and their three sons, Denny (Barbie), Duane (Carey), and Shawn; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Tom (Carolyn) of Boone, IA, Larry of Boone, IA and Allen (Judy) of Waterloo, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and former co-workers. His memory will forever remain in their hearts.

A memorial service will be Thursday, July 30, at 11:00am at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories in Waterloo, IA. A public viewing will be from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service.
