DeVonner Coleman Sr., 58, entered into enteral life on August 9, 2026. DeVonner was born on August 23, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri, from the union of Roosevelt Coleman Sr, and Rosie Coleman. 

DeVonner accepted Christ at an early age.

DeVonner attended West High School. Afterwards, he moved back home to St. Louis, Missouri where he worked with his dad for years until later on, he became a Chef at Yacovellis Italian Restaurant and St. Louis County Club. DeVonner spent most of his time doing what he loved to do most and that was cooking in high-end restaurants.

 DeVonner was very caring, humorous, loving, generous and a huge protector of his family. His favorite moment was having a house full of company, cooking and feeding all of them.

 DeVonner will be forever remembered and cherished by his wife, Esther Sheriff, his mother, Rosie Coleman, of Waterloo, Iowa, his uncles, Sylvester (Darlene) Coleman, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Booker T (Wanda) Grisby, of Cahokia, Illinois, his aunts Doris (Jerry) Campbell of Akron, Ohio, Inez Grisby, Curtistine Grisby, Willie Mae Williams, and Johnnie Mae Grisby of St. Louis, Missouri; his brothers, Floyd (Vanessa) Grisby, Frederick (Denise) Coleman, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Roosevelt Coleman Jr, Lonzo Coleman Sr, Lamont (Corinna) Coleman, of Waterloo, Iowa, Matthew Harris, John Hillard and Jody Hillard of St. Louis, Missouri; his sisters, Diane West, Patsy Coleman of Waterloo, Iowa, Bertha Harris, Clara Jean Harris, Felicia Harris, Janice Wallace, Myra Hogan and Toni Phillips, of St. Louis, Missouri; a special niece, Inez Melissa Gribsy, of Waterloo, Iowa; sons, Michael Simpson, of Des Moines, Iowa, Tray (Juelene) Whitney, Devon Coleman of St. Louis, Missouri, and DeVonner Coleman Jr, of Waterloo, Iowa, daughters, Dakyia Carter, Nicole Tolliver, Da'Vonna Coleman, of St. Louis, Missouri, Whitney Coleman, of Belzoni, Mississippi and Shanequa Montgomery, of Racine, Wisconsin; 25 grandkids, 2 great grand daughters and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, honorary sister Trish Wortham, honorary brother Eddie West, Cortez Carwford, and Ben Burks. 

DeVonner was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Coleman Sr.; 2 daughters, Danette and Da'Von'Shay Coleman; 1 son, Demond Whitney; paternal grandparents; Johnny and Louise Coleman; maternal grandparents; Nathaniel and Ida Grisby and several beloved family members and friends.
