Evelyn Jean Buss

Evelyn “Jean” Buss was born February 21, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Eva (Bergles) Holler. She married Rodger “Bud” Buss on August 22, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2018. Jean worked at Wells as a sales clerk, and later retired from Milletts Textiles and Manufacturing. Jean and Bud loved dancing. They would travel with the Blue Denim Band. She enjoyed collecting anything Elvis or Michael Jordan.

Jean passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Ravenwood Specialty Care at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Ronald Buss; a grandson, Jason McCombs; a brother, Roger Holler and a sister, Carolyn Finn.

Jean is survived by a son, Dale (Connie) Buss of Waterloo; a daughter, Vicky Buss of Waterloo; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Sandra (Clarence) Heise of Shell Rock.

Visitation: Friday, August 25, 2023, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.

Funeral Service: Friday, August 25, 2023, at 10:30 am at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Burial will be a later date at Fremont Cemetery in Tripoli.
