Frances Caroline Fike Cooper Novak passed away Sunday November 17, 2024. She was 76 years old. Frances was born March 20, 1948, in Waterloo, IA, to Ernest and Evelyn (Hansen) Fike.
Frances grew up in Waterloo, IA, graduating from Waterloo East High School in 1966. After high school, she moved to Cedar Rapids and started working at Collins as a machinist. In 1988 Frances decided to make the move to Virginia to be closer to family. While in Virginia, she attended college and became a computer librarian. She enjoyed this job for quite some time. In 2000, she decided to move back to Waterloo and started to work at the casino until she retired. During all this time, she had the pleasure of being married twice to two lucky gentlemen.
Frances was true one of kind. She had a great sense of humor but was sassy at the same time. In her spare time, Frances was very busy. She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, loved cooking, playing cards, reading, making candy and just loving life. She enjoyed every drop of her life to the fullest. Frances didn’t have any children of her own but loved and spoiled her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Ernest and Evelyn.
Frances is survived by one brother, Bernie Fike of Waterloo, IA; one sister, Phyllis (Harold) Brandt of Waterloo, IA; two nieces, Mary Geiger of Waterloo, IA and Nichelle Bunkofske of Cedar Falls, IA; three nephews, Kurt Brandt of Cedar Falls, IA, Derek Fike of Waterloo, IA and Mitchell Fike of Waterloo, IA; three great nieces; four great nephews; and Jennifer Owen of Florida, who Frances helped raise like she was one of her own; and many family and friends.
Per Frances wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services at this time.
