Linda Kay Joy

Linda Kay Joy was born February 15, 1948, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Timmons) Voelschow. She graduated from East High School in 1966. Linda married Dennis Joy on July 22, 1977. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2002. She liked sports, especially the Cubs and Bears. Linda enjoyed being outdoors and watching Angie participate in her sporting activities. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, grandkids and friends. Linda worked at JE Millets/Buffalo Weaver until her retirement in 2019. She also worked with Waterloo Community Schools in food service for many years.

Linda passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home at the age of 76. She is preceded in death by her parents, spouse and two sisters, Mary Neelans and Gert Sherwood.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Angie (Jason) Schaffer of Waterloo; a stepson, Rusty Joy of Portage, Indiana; four granddaughters, Cassidy (Rustam) Joy-Saini, Lexie (Mitchell) Joy-Cernek, Makayla (Zinhad) Jasarevic and Kaitlynne Vaughn; four great-grandchildren, Zaydrian, Arden, Zanajda and Maren and one on the way and many nieces and nephews.
