Ma'Lani Jade Barnes

Ma’Lani Jade Barnes was born on May 17, 2024, at Allen Hospital, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Trevion Barnes and MaKayla McDaniel. She had the brightest smile when everyone told her she was beautiful. Ma’Lani was a strong little girl, trying to hold her little head up. She loved her bows in her hair and being milk drunk. Ma’Lani loved cuddling with her dad, she was always in his arms. She was the highlight of everyone’s day when she went to work at the salon with her mom. 

Ma’Lani passed in her sleep on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at her home. She is survived by her parents, Trevion Barnes, Sr. and MaKayla McDaniel of Waterloo; her big brother Trevion “T.J.” Barnes, Jr. of Waterloo; grandparents, Michael (Ebony) McDaniel of North Carolina, Tanya (Randy) Kollmann of Waterloo, Tanika Barnes of Waterloo, Dustin (Heather) Rindels of Waterloo; great-grandparents, Willie Ann Bonds of Indiana, Cindy (Billy) Lee of Indiana, Charlene (Alonzo) Wells, Sr., of Indiana, Cherrié Kay Wheeler of California, Regina Rebitz of Waterloo and Roy McDaniel of Waterloo and several aunts, uncles, great-aunts and great-uncles.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Visitation: Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo

Service: Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 am at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories.

Following the funeral services, a luncheon will be held at Dolled Up Studio, 209 Walnut St., Cedar Falls, inside of the community room. 

Burial: Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
