Nikki Novanna Alexander, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who departed this life on July 24, 2026, at the age of 52. Nikki passed away peacefully of natural causes in the loving presence of her family.
Born on January 16, 1974, in Waterloo, lowa, Nikki was the cherished daughter of LaVerta Alexander and the late Robert Anderson Jr. From a young age, Nikki displayed a compassionate spirit and a generous heart, traits that would define her life.
Nikki's formative years were spent in Waterloo, where she attended St. Mary's and East High School. Her education laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service and care for others. Professionally, Nikki embraced roles that reflected her nurturing nature, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a childcare provider, and a housekeeper. Her commitment to caring for others was not just a career; it was her calling.
A faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, Nikki was deeply involved in her community. She served with dedication on the Culinary Committee, lent her voice to the Unity Choir, and inspired young hearts as an instructor of the Youth Usher Board. Her faith and devotion to her church were cornerstones of her life, and she found joy in volunteering, cooking, and bringing people together.
Nikki's love for life extended to her hobbies, which included shopping, cooking, interior decorating and, above all, spending time with family and friends. Her home was a sanctuary of laughter and warmth, a place where everyone felt welcome. Her fun-loving spirit and zest for life were infectious, and she touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.
Nikki is survived by her devoted children Micguel Campbell, Michael Campbell, Walter Smith (Fredricka), Atterrious Alexander, Ronald Frazier, Mya Grubbs (Logan), LaMontrece Jordan, LaMontae Jordan; and a Godson Lamarion Brown. She leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Nikki is also survived by her loving grandmother Darlene Williams, mother LaVerta Alexander, stepfather (Reginald Haywood). Seven brothers; Ricardos Alexander (Amanda), Detonio Allen (Kelly), SanRico Allen, Renaldo Haywood, Robert Anderson III, Romando Haywood, and Raytiris Haywood. Three sisters; Teesha Barton, Renicia Haywood and Rekitia Haywood, along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Anderson Jr., paternal grandparent Robert Anderson Sr., maternal grandparents Robert and Mary Alexander who now welcomes her into eternal rest.
As beautiful as a rose to see, was her life she lived so gracefully. She made things precious by her touch; selfless love lives on in each of us. The petals of her life fell one by one, each gift of her heart till there were none.
