It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Rose Acquaah Wilson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of our community. Rose passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on October 5, 1968, in Monrovia, Liberia, Rose's life was a testament to resilience, love, and faith.
Rose was the treasured daughter of the late Hannah Green and Samuel Acquaah. She was preceded in death by her parents, whose memories she carried lovingly throughout her life. In 1992, while on a refugee camp in Accra, Ghana, Rose married the love of her life, Alfred H. Wilson, with whom she shared a deep and abiding partnership.
Rose's heart was her family. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Charles, Joshua, Shadrack, and Brendan Wilson, who will continue to honor her legacy. Her love and guidance extended to her 17 grandchildren, each of whom she adored and cherished.
A woman of unwavering faith, Rose was an active member of the Lutheran Church in Minnesota. Her love for God was reflected in her joyful spirit, her generous heart, and her commitment to helping others. Whether through song or dance, Rose brought light and happiness to those around her.
Rose's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on October 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM, at the Parrott & Wood Chapel Of Memories, located at 965 Home Plaza Ste. 1, Waterloo, IA 50701. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and a love that will forever linger in our hearts. In honor of Rose's memory, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Lutheran Church in Minnesota, reflecting her lifelong dedication to her faith and community.
The family shares this heartfelt message: "A mother like you is a blessing that can never be replaced and a love that will never be forgotten. You were a loving, caring, and selfless woman who always found a way to help others, offer comfort, and show kindness to those around you. Your strength, determination, and strong will were a reflection of the incredible woman God created you to be."
Although our hearts are heavy, we find solace in knowing that Rose's faith has carried her home to the Lord. Her spirit, strength, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind will live on through every life she touched.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents; one son Raphael Wilson; and sisters, Florence and Dinah.
She is survived by her children, Charles, Josh, Shadrack, and Brendan; brothers, Peter, Samuel Isaac; sister, Jullie; and 20 grandchildren.
Rose Acquaah Wilson, your work here is done, your faith has carried you home, and your love will never be forgotten. Rest peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
