Ruth Mary Viers

Ruth Mary Viers was born January 2, 1944, in Austinville, Iowa, the daughter of Eldon and Hattie (Bartlett) High. She was the youngest of 12 siblings, Ralph, Robert, Joe, Paul, Harold, Leonard, Everett, Helen, Dorothy, Doris, and Esther. Ruth graduated from Nashua High School, and then attended Hawkeye Community College, where she received a degree in business. She married Robert Viers; he preceded her in death in 2001. Ruth worked at Sears and Robuck Company for many years, until her retirement. After her retirement, she worked through the Senior Program at the Grout Museum. Ruth was a very blessed lady. She was very active at Hammond Avenue Brethren Church and with her family. She enjoyed bingo and crossword puzzles.Ruth was a very kind and humble lady.

 Ruth passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at New Aldaya Lifescapes at the age of 80. She is preceded in death by her parents; spouse; a son Dale Viers; seven brothers and five sisters. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Nancy Simmons of Waterloo and Lisa (Robert) Young of Waterloo; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren
